When a tutor decides to cease lessons with a student due to personal reasons or schedule changes, it is important to follow a notice period to ensure a seamless handover process. This knowledge article outlines the notice period requirement and the steps we take to facilitate the resignation process. Providing advance notice allows us to make appropriate arrangements to backfill or find a suitable replacement tutor/teacher who can effectively continue supporting the student's educational needs.
Notice Period Requirement:
To maintain consistency and minimize disruption to the student's learning journey, our tutors are required to provide a notice period of at least two weeks when ceasing lessons with a student. This advance notice enables us to make necessary arrangements to backfill or find a suitable replacement tutor/teacher who can effectively continue supporting the student's educational needs.
Facilitating the Resignation Process:
Step 1 - Notifying the Tutor Lim Service Team:
As a tutor, you can inform the Tutor Lim service team about your intention to discontinue lessons with an assigned student. Upon receiving your notice, our service team will promptly check if there are any active students currently assigned to you. This step helps us identify the students who will be affected by your departure.
Step 2 - Ensuring a Smooth Transition:
We recognise the importance of maintaining a smooth transition for the student during this period of change. Hence, we take proactive steps to backfill or find a suitable replacement tutor/teacher who can seamlessly continue supporting the student's learning journey. This ensures that the student's educational progress is not interrupted.
Step 3 - Requesting Support during the Transition:
While we work on finding a replacement, we kindly request the resigning tutor to consider staying on until the transition is complete. We greatly appreciate your assistance in providing continuity for the student during this time. Your continued support ensures a stable learning environment until a suitable replacement is found.
Penalty for Leaving Without Notice:
At Tutor Lim, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and tutors may need to discontinue lessons with a student without providing the required notice period. However, it is essential to maintain the integrity of our commitment to providing a smooth transition and continuity of support for our students. Therefore, a penalty may be imposed for leaving without notice.
Penalty Policy:

Leaving without notice may result in a deduction from the tutor's final payment or a withholding of payment for the equivalent of the notice period.
