Announcement

We are using Teachworks and Lessonspace!

·Lessonspace is an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, collaboration, chat, and webinars across desktops, mobile devices and tablets.
·Teachworks is a useful platform, designed to help tutors and students in organising, lesson scheduling and note sharing.

This guide aims to give you step-by-step insights on how to use Lessonspace, together with your Teachworks account. With these tools in hand, we aim to empower students to learn online, one-on-one or in group lessons, using the most versatile collaborative space for tutoring sessions.

STEP 1a - SELECTING: (i) SCHEDULED or (ii) ATTENDED

On Teachworks, each time a lesson is Scheduled, a tutor is expected to mark “Attended” so the system automatically picks up the duration of the lesson and processes it as part of your timesheet and reporting (payroll).

  • Scheduled:

    • You have accepted a Requested lesson by your student; Or

    • You have Scheduled a lesson for your student using Teachworks.

  • Attended:

    • You have completed your session with your student(s).

    • Hours are chargeable, and you will be paid for the session.

LOGIN > CALENDAR > CLICK ON YOUR SCHEDULED EVENTS

STEP 1b - SELECTING: (iii) MISSED or (iv) CANCELLED

  • Missed:
      • You are not notified 24hrs before the session takes place. Under the supervision of the management team/ staff, cancellation charges will be incurred upon the student(s).

      • Please notify staff members when your student(s) is missing his/her lessons.

  • Cancelled:

    • You should be notified 24hrs before the session is cancelled (initiated by staff or your student(s)).

    • On this occasion, Rescheduling the lesson cancelled is required - and we expect tutors to initiate new conversations with the student(s) directly to determine: where and when the replacement session can take place.

    • No cancellation fee will incur on the student(s); and no payment will be released to you until a replacement class is conducted.

Take the Lead, Plan Ahead

image At Tutor Lim, our community is built on empowering tutors to manage their own students. If your portfolio has a high number of missed/cancelled events, it means:

1. As a tutor and as a mentor to your student(s), you have failed to plan ahead
2. As a tutor and as a mentor to your student(s), you have failed to make sure (both yourself and your student) to commit to a scheduled lesson.

We understand from now and then students may cancel a lesson (or two) due to emergencies or other commitments. However, if cancellations occur frequently, the tutor is advised to seek consultation from staff members for additional support.
